When Adobe retired recertification of Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) exams, candidates were forced to find a facility near them where they could sit the exam, instead of online from the comfort of their home or office.
The main problem with taking the recertification exam online was it wasn't proctored, so had little, if any, value. You can now sit the ACE exam online again from the comfort of your home or office, and this time it will be proctored.
